Breathtaking realism and uncompromising authenticity are a couple of the qualities that set Kim Norlien's fine art prints apart from the rest. Each Norlien print is completely researched to ensure that every detail - whether it be wildlife, architecture, or landscape - is captured precisely as it is found in Mother Nature's domain. He likes to capture the joy and simplicity of days gone by and wildlife scenes in their natural state. He mainly uses acrylics with skillful interplay of light and shadow to give each of his prints a subtle yet powerful glow. There are also at least 5 hidden images in each print and it comes with a key when you purchase a print. Call us if you are curious to what and where the hidden images are. Each of his fine art prints sold here come unframed but it may be something in the future that we will do. Also the types of prints such as; paper prints or giclee canvas prints are the two available and are described at the bottom of this page.
Paper Prints - Offset lithography is the process by which most paper prints are made. The original painting is scanned into a computer, and color corrected to match the original painting. The colors are separated into four colors and than printed on a four-color press.
Giclee Canvas - Giclee is a printing method, and the word Giclee means “droplets of ink”. In Giclee printing, the prints are usually done on canvas or other special cotton papers. Giclee printing is a more accurate process than offset lithography. The original painting is scanned into the computer, then color corrected. The image is then outputted directly onto canvas by means of a high-resolution inkjet printer. The inks used in this process are pigmented and are guaranteed by the manufacturer to not fade for at least 200 years. This is a much slower printing process and more expensive, but the final result is a much higher quality reproduction than an offset lithograph.
