An advent wreath is so much of the Christian faith.  The advent wreath is typically a horizontal evergreen wreath with four and sometimes five candles that is usually lighted each Sunday starting with the first Sunday of Advent.  The advent wreath is a reminder of the coming of the birth of Jesus Christ and should be a part of all Christian homes.  The first candle is purple and symbolizes hope.  The second candle is purple and symbolizes love.  The third advent wreath candle symbolizes Joy and can be purple or pink.  The fourth candle is purple and symbolizes Peace.  Some advent wreaths have an option center candle which is placed in the center and is white.  The advent wreath candle is lighted on Christmas day to celbrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
